Yorkton Contracting was founded in 1998, by our President Vito Colucci, out of his desire to create a company that provides quality craftsmanship while maintaining a high standard of communication and client satisfaction.
Yorkton Contracting offers a full range of General Contracting, Construction Management, Project Management and Design Build Services in the Civil, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional (Healthcare, Educational, Recreational), and Residential Construction sectors. Our head office and equipment are centrally located in Barrie, Ontario allowing us to cost-effectively service many areas of the province, from the Greater Toronto Area to Muskoka and from Owen Sound to Peterborough. Our client list includes all levels of government, public and private sector agencies, school boards, small business and major corporations.
The original focus of Yorkton Contracting was custom home building and quality home renovations. Vito Colucci’s strong work ethic and impeccable work soon led him to be featured on Home & Garden Television and Style At Home, Toronto Life and House & Home Magazines. He is often recognized from his appearances on numerous HGTV shows including, Design Inc., Room Service, Sarah’s House, Sarah’s Cottage and Sarah’s Farm, becoming well known as Sarah Richardson’s number one contractor from 1997 to 2010.
In 2008 Vito took Yorkton Contracting in a new direction, focusing more on larger commercial, institutional, industrial and civil earthworks projects. Yorkton has in house skilled trades & labour and its’ own heavy construction equipment ranging from small to large excavators, skid steers, backhoes, dump trucks, roll off trucks and disposal bins.
Over the last 20 years, Yorkton has grown and evolved, gaining experience and capabilities in many areas of construction. Yorkton projects now range from large custom home builds to site services, large condominium excavations, renovations to Police and Fire Stations for the City of Barrie, and extensive renovations to the Toronto District Christian High School, to name a few. Yorkton is currently a preferred contractor to the City of Barrie, providing the City with: watermain and sanitary lateral repairs and replacements, excavation, paving, curbs and sidewalks, landscaping, interior and exterior renovations and new construction services.
Yorkton Contracting is fully insured and bondable. Safety is Paramount at Yorkton, and as such we maintain a thorough and current Health and Safety Policy and Program and are currently registered in, and actively pursuing COR – Certificate of Recognition certification.
